It is not a usual school. It just this morning, I
have a previlige to be part of this valuable occasion. On Saturday, May 16th
2015, My friend, Nilam Cahya and I are selected to be the participant of School
of Mawapres 2 (SOM 2). It is held in Kahuripan hall at 3rd floor of Airlangga
University Student Centre. The event have been set by Garuda Sakti Team.
I came at 7.15 a.m with by my strong bike. Ok, just
an information that I got to meet Aida, my classmate who was waiting for “Healthy
and Beauty with Al-Quran”, what such a deep seminar by Asma Nadia. She is an
inspirational writer in Indonesia among wonderful muslimah. Any way, I didnt go
for that seminar. But, just so you know that there are two kinds of ticket for
the seminar. There are gold and silver. The early booked ticket will get a
chance to have picture with Asma Nadia. What a creative way for marketing!
Back to SOM 2, Nilam and I went to Kahuripan Hall. We
get welcoming snack and drink. Let me say this typical snack which have been
favorited by events at my campus “Kampung Roti” and “Club”. Well, if anyone
needs me for endorsing, feel free to contact me.
The SOM 2 is hosted by Kak Intan and fine-looking
guy. Both of the mc are finalist of “DUTA UA 2014”. What a great combination.
Actually, I see that there are a little bit nervous at the first time, due to
their talks in such a rush. By the time, after standing for singing “Indonesia
Raya” and “Hymne Airlangga”, the mc are adjusting well with the situation. There
were about 141 selected students (mahasiswa) gather in SOM 2. The selection was
accommodated from each faculty by publishing to each student by broadcasting in
line and posters. The students just need to collect their curriculum vitae and
the latest report card (KHS). After that, the students who selected was also
announced by line.
Return to the
event, after the opening session, there are some opening speech by Dr. Bimo
Laksono (lecture at Vet faculty). I can tell you that he is very energetic and
looks young. From his speech, I can see how big his passion working with the
students. Especially, with the brilliant
students. He said that the people in SOM 2 are selected. So, it is important to
be grateful and give a full attention toward any materi given at SOM 2. Really,
I am so excited to know more about the qualification of being MAWAPRES.
The second speech given by the chief of Garuda Sakti.
He is a boy and again, as the leader of the event, he explain what is SOM 2 and
its differences with SOM 1. SOM 2 is more applicative then SOM 1. The
participant will be an active part of the workshop.
The first session by Pak Bimo. He explained about the
“Potensi/Keunggulan” to be MAWAPRES. From all of his explanation, I got my
turning point of how important is being a competitive person instead of
participative person. It because of the MAWAPRES judging process are calculated
from individual point of MAWAPRES. Pak Bimo was very focus in emphasizing about
the differences between participative and “prestatif”. “Prestatif” is about
being the winner, get the award, being honourable, being one of a kind, and
took competitive selection process. In this opportunity, i got a chance to
verified again about what is really means by “prestatif”?
My question : “What about if the student is a selected
delegation who passed the local, regional,
Until national level, so then he or she can be
delegation of Indonesia to go to
International event ?”
Answer : “That concern
have been a controversial thing also in the process of scoring the
Students, but sorry that I can say, that kind
of activity is still include in participation.
Unless he or she join a competition
while abroad and become either 1st,2nd, or 3rd
Winner. Those will include as
“prestatif”.
Many students at the room, are start to talking each
other, to give respond toward the answer. More over, before my question, there
is Alfin, from Public Health Faculty also get a chance to give a question. In
conclusion, being in organization or committes in events is also considered as
a participative score. It based on a reason that hard t score how big someone
impat toward the event or change which have been made. It is exceptional for
the President of BEM which will be included as the fisrt winner in province level.
There are 4 area of scoring level (local, regional, national, and
international). Pak Bimo also let give a chance to anyone who want to tell
about their cv. One of student kindly open with his cv. He is from Pharmacy
faculty, and he has become delegation ASEAN conferrence in ppharmacy at
Thailand and also France. Unfortunately, those marvelous chance is still scored
as participative. After a self presentation, Pak Bimo gives verrifications
question such as “what did you get from being in France? How many participants
are joined? Where they from? And so on.”. Those questions are given to know how
well the students joining the event. It
is not only about what, but it is about how.- my conclusion
There are four main requierements for being mawapres
nasional. Those are capability of English and others UN language (Arabic,
Chinese, France, Spain), Perconality,
Potensial/Keunggulan, and Research paper /KTI. Each of them has their own
percentage 40%, 25%, 35%. All of this have been first viewed by the curriculum vitae.
The achievements from the major taken will have higher score.
The second session given by Bu Dewo Melani, a
brilliant lecture from Pharmacy major, who has many published research paper
internationally. She shared to the students about how to write a rights
reaserach paper. Most of all, the important things are :
1.)
Well
organized and always make a note of any idea we have got (save at purse and
re-write it to a specific book every twice a week. Because it will be usefull
oneday
2.)
Creative,
innovative, contributive, solutiv, and implementatif (start from the closest
problem)
3.)
The title of
the paper have to be original, new,
update, interesting, popular, and easy to be understood (max 20 words)
4.)
Have to be
persistance.
A writer
will never give up to give the right and best paper. There is Hilmy from Dentst faculty, present
about his paper with the title “Med camp for kids”. The abstract have been
answer the background of the event, aims, method, where, sample, result,a nd
conclusion. Remeber that abstract is only 250 words long.
The third session was given by Dr. Dewi Retno
Suminar, M.Si. Psikolog. She is very friendly, warm presentator. She is very in
love and depth in to her major. She also ever be a key note speaker in one of
event in Osaka, Japan. I can tell that her presentation is well prepared
because she really knows whats in her file presentation. I learn about how
important is the intonation, volume, and oral expresiion in presentation. The
peak or histogram must given a peak on opening, harmonic in the middle and give
other topmost in the closing. “Give the judge great expression while he or she
wants to write a score”, Bu Dewi. As a presenter, we have to have the mindset
that we are the presenter and I am the
only one who knows my materi. The audience really needs my information cause
they still know a little or might be no nothing about my material. Even
the judges. So, Show yourself!
The next session is sharing session by alumni of
mawapres, they are mabk Neissa (Public Health), Nastiti (Vokasi), and Avi
(Psychology). From mbak Neissa, given tips to be always understand and follow
the procedure, make a clear research paper. More over from mbak Nastiti and
Avi, be brave to try, cause everyone is smart in their way but how brave you
will take the opportunity and risk. The agenda continue with Ishoma. The lunch
menu are fried chicken, white rice, noodle, tofu with sambal and sambal goreng
ucet. Thank you committe! One of the event organizer is Kak Lydia and my friend
Efi.
Here, I met new friend from other faculty. They
are Nurul (Technobiomedical Enginering), Yessy (FISIP), Ari (Indonesian
Literature), Ina (the Raline Shah from Sidoarjo who is a student of Law
faculty), Desak from (FISIP), and also
Mario (Dentist Faculty). Here we arem got a chance to have seminar about debate
with Mrs. Monique, a lecture at Economic faculty. I admire how well she
dressed. A black plain balck gown, bold hijab style, enough high heels so the
she can walk firmly, her white necklace wich contrast with all the black color
and her neat make up. Subahanallah..
The debate went smoothly because wach group has
their own turn to give argumentation at the first session. The next session
only for the 10 selected teams, and the third session is a debate which only
for the big four selected teams. I love the mossion chosen by the comiitee.
What an uptodate and comprehensive issue such us issue about UNAS, smoking
effects, sinetron, until technologies effect toward lessening the kids interest
toward reading book.
SOM 2 is a breakthrough of Airlangga University to
gain and find out the potential students who might fit properly with the
requierements of beng mawapres nasional. That is a prestige. Here I gain that,
Allah akan memeluk mimpi-mimpi hamba-Nya.
